As a qualified BACP registered children’s therapist working in schools for 10+ years, when I discovered Relax Kids, I simply thought it was brilliant. It is exactly the kind of sessions I would want my own children to attend. The promotion of emotional well being to children in a fun and creative way was a selling point for me. Furthermore it equips children with tools to manage their emotions and nurtures confidence. I was sold, it wasn’t long before I was training to be a Relax Kids coach.
Relax Kids uses a 7 steps system to teach children about relaxation and mindfulness through: movement, games, stretching, breathing exercises, peer massage, affirmations and visualizations. There is such flexibility and creativity with our sessions, we have different themes every 6 weeks. We can use our own themes such as pirate adventure , confidence boot camp and circus adventure or incorporate your own chosen theme into our sessions. Relax Kids sessions are a great and fun way to introduce children to relaxation and teach them valuable skills for their mental health that will last a lifetime. Relax Kids gives children tools to manage their emotions by teaching them ways to address negative feelings in a positive and constructive way. As a result, the sessions help boost children’s confidence and self-esteem, develop their imaginations, and improves their communication skills.
Additionally at Relax Kids we have developed a range of children's books, and CDs that are mindfulness focused and specifically designed to help children manage their stress, anxiety, and promote peaceful sleep. Our products are used by a range of professionals such as psychologists, teachers, play therapists, family therapists and yoga teachers .

A bit about me
Good mental health in our children is paramount to their success.
As an ex teacher and BACP registered therapist, I deeply believe in the importance of nurturing good mental health in our children and young people and focusing on their emotional well being. If I had a magic wand, I would use it to remove the negative connations sometimes associated with the words mental health. We all have a mental health in the same way we all have a physical health and investing in our children's mental health gives them a solid foundation from which they can thrive from. Happy well balanced children are likely to be successful emotionally literate adults.

Your child's well-being is my ultimate concern. As every child is different, I have a range of services that would suit most children. I can work on a one to one basis, with families or you can bring your child to my Relax Kids group classes. My sessions are designed to strengthen your child's confidence, equip them with tools to manage their emotions thus nurturing their resilience and address any difficulties they might be having if any. Little Stars (3-5years old)
Confident, happy, calm children
Using imaginative themed sessions such as fairy tales, young children are introduced to the concepts of relaxation and mindfulness at an early age in a fun and creative way. Little stars classes are 45 minutes long and designed to introduce children to their emotional well being and give them language for their feelings. Little Stars gives young children the best start in life by working on some of the Early Years goals (communication and language, physical development, personal social and emotional development and expressive art). Sessions also incorporates exercises that start to make them aware of their body and gives calming techniques. Little Stars sessions can be tailored for one to one sessions or small groups in the family home or a neutral location.
Magical adventures (6-10years old)

Designed to help improve your child’s emotional well being and self –esteem.
Relax Kids sessions help children recognise their strengths and manage their emotions. Regular relax kids classes will aid your child’s concentration and equip them with tools to manage difficult emotions thus having practical skills they can use in their everyday life. They will become more emotionally literate and build on their resilience.
Classes include exciting games and drama based activities which nurture their imaginations and encourages positive socialisation among their peers. Peer massage which encourages autonomy over their body and positive touch amongst their peers and lowers stress levels. Stretches which help increase flexibility and movement in the body. These exercises also have a direct effect on the emotions. Affirmations are delivered through engaging games and group exercises. Positive thinking and affirmations are powerful coping tools and help foster resilience. Breathing exercises which helps calm the nervous system, balance the left and right side of the brain and aids in concentration and focus. Children will learn how to use the different breathing techniques to calm and self regulate. The sessions end with relaxation and visualisation exercises which help release physical and mental tension and give children the tools to relieve stress and anxiety. Done regularly, all these exercises can help promote deeper sleep and a more relaxed attitude to daily challenges.
These sessions can be tailored for private one to one sessions or small group and family work in the home.
Chill Skills (10-15 years old)
Chill Skills are one to one sessions designed to help your child have better self esteem and a more positive outlook on life. Despite more awareness of the importance of good mental health, alarmingly, 70% of young people who experience a mental health difficulties do not receive the appropriate support and those that do often experience a long wait. It is thought that as many as one in six young people will experience an anxiety-related problem so it is vital we give them tools and information they can use to build resilience and make them feel less alone. Chill Skills is a good preventative programme.
Chill Skills sessions help young people de-stress with a variety of relaxation and mindfulness exercises. Each session includes relaxation techniques, breathing exercises, visualisation and discussions on topics related to improving mental and physical health and well-being. Sessions can work on specific issues like managing exam stress, secondary school transitions, bullying and general anxiety. This is a more focused, one to one discussion based sessions. Your child will learn about brain science and how their brain works under stress and take home valuable tips and mindfulness techniques that can help them be calm and more confident.
